About Emergent Wisdom
I’m Henrik Westerberg, an independent researcher working on machine reasoning, understanding, and AI alignment. Emergent Wisdom is the home for this work. Its central question is how the structures behind thought can be made explicit enough to inspect, test, and build on.
Writing often records conclusions but leaves out the questions, working models, and changes in interpretation that produced them. My research explores ways to preserve that process, so AI systems can revisit their reasoning, carry understanding forward, and explore new ways of representing ideas.
A broader aim is to develop capability and care together. This includes studying how a deeper understanding of people and their lives could help AI systems act with care. The work spans implemented tools, early experiments, and research proposals. Each paper explains what has been tested and what remains open.
I publish the papers, code, and research artifacts openly. I also work on Sapio, a separate project that turns competing, economically backed forecasts into collective decisions. I’m also part of Brainference.
